Quote of the Day: “I’m not transgender. I. Am. A. Boy,” says 5-year-old Tyler, who born a girl. He first insisted he was a boy at the age of 2, and eventually was diagnosed with gender identity disorder.
Now, his parents allow him to present himself as a boy, and Tyler’s mom doesn’t think he’s going through a phase (though doctors say many children with gender identity disorder eventually switch back to their biological gender). “I just want my child to be happy,” she says.
Don’t miss the video and pic gallery that help tell Tyler’s story.

Every now and then I fall apart. When that happens, I put in my headphones and listen to Andrea Gibson’s voice.

May 29th, 2012

You never quite realize how much you truly rely on something until it isn’t there anymore. I learned this tidbit from the beautiful storm that we had last night, that was a tornado, I heard. The tornado didn’t touch down near my house, but it did over by where I used to live around 10 years ago. The force of the wind knocked down a tree across the street, taking down the power line with it. Our power has been out from 11 pm last night until around 5 pm today.

I had to sleep in utter silent, and it was strange. My mind kept thinking about the end of the world, the end of my life, and the end of Ryan’s life. I kept thinking about the day when I receive the call, saying that my mom was about to die. I thought of nothing but negativity for the entire conscious night.

I woke up, in a silent house, staring out the window and onto a gorgeous sunrise and thought the negativity away. Maybe I should spend as much time as I can downstairs before work, and after maybe. I felt great today. I never got upset one bit, even without power.

I had a great day.

And a great Skype date with a great man.

akoniewaine replied to your post: What is your quest?

Have you never seen Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail?!

YES!

I understand now.

My quest is to become a successful photographer and a published author, and a great husband to Ryan.

akoniewaine asked: What is your quest?

What do you mean?
